HANARE takes its name from the hanare, the detached room a Japanese house keeps for its most honoured guests.
In a traditional Japanese house, the hanare, written 離れ, is the detached room: a quiet annex apart from the main house, kept for honoured guests. It is no larger than the rest of the home and no louder. It is set aside.
That is the kind of travel we arrange. It is a step away from the itineraries anyone can buy, into the rooms, tables and friendships that Tokyo keeps for the people it trusts.
HANARE is a Tokyo land operator. We arrange, on the ground, what the travel advisor sells: the Japanese ground services those journeys are built from, in Tokyo and within a day’s reach of it, and we are there on the day to see them delivered. We are few by design. Every brief is answered by the same people who carry it out, so you reach the people who do the work directly.
Registration of HANARE as a Travel Service Arrangement Business in Tokyo is in progress. We work exclusively with travel-trade partners and do not sell to consumers.

Who runs HANARE.
HANARE is run by a small team. Some of us have joined from outside RAC LLC, the company that operates the service. What we share is the work and the standard we hold it to.

Whoever you deal with at HANARE, the contracting party is the same. RAC LLC, Tokyo, is the party to every agreement, quotation and invoice, and the company under which the travel-business registration is being prepared. Once registration is in place, every arrangement will be made in its name and under its responsibility.
